For my Body project, I had to produce a single b&w image of a person that I didn't know, a big part of the project was about building up the courage to ask someone if they would like to be part of a portrait project & using confidence to direct the person in what you wanted to produce for a final piece.
My overal knowledge on portrait photographs is very small as I've never looked into such works,I researched lifestyle blogs & came across works by photographers unknown of females with a very natural feel to them, so I decided to look more into this area.
I based my portrait around the idea of very natural portraits, taken in natural feel environments using natural light, but of course using the studio environment to try reproduce such a photograph, I wanted them to look like they where taken in a hotel room by a friend on a holiday or trip with a nice feeling of connection between the viewer and sitter.
After everything was finished & the film was developed, I was happy with a few shots but not so happy with the printing stage, I was told to shoot on a slower film as 400 wasn't a good choice for studio enviroment. but I wanted the grain so I chose to try it out anyway & the print look very flat. I think I might try for another print using shorter exposure times & more blacks to try and get a better contrast in the print.
