Cityscape - Pastiche.

For my cityscape pastiche I chose Thomas struth, after being shown his work for one of the pastiche choices I really did fall in love with his style of landscape and choices of location, I felt it was very much up my street, I failed at the attempt of looking for somewhere so overwhelming as I felt the image was, as people call it ' a concrete jungle ' I tried to fit it in with the concept of some of his other work as well.

He seems to shoot what look like very run down places, empty and filled with a kind of sadness in the air, also shoots on overcast days allowing for single tone sky. & his use of wide paths & roads always leading into the unknown is really interesting.

I waited for a nice cast grey cast sky & photographed in a estate down in chatham, using inspiration from the pastiche & others of his work.

This was my final print, photographed on a Bronica sq-a using Kodak portra 160 at f.22 - 4th of a second.
